Research

Lluís Coll (Ramón y Cajal Fellow) develops his research activities in the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia (CTFC). He is also associate researcher of the Centre for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF).  Their current research activities focus in the analysis of Mediterranean mountain forests dynamics in the present land-use and climate changing contex . In this general context he is developing a set of studies that include: (i) the analysis of the main biotic and abiotic factors driving mixed-forest dynamics at the montane-subalpine ecotone of the Pyrennes, (ii) the characterization of the mechanisms that modulate mountain forest resilience to natural and anthropogenic disturbances and (iii) the assessment of the adaptive capacity of forest species to changing environmental conditions.
